A common thread you'll find in all the Belle Vie collections is that they are made of sweet childhood memories.
This Summer season, we are taking you back to the vacations by the sea, part of many families's history and a memory that we cherish ourselves.
"Holidays at the Seaside" is a poetic, refined, yet super comfy and easy line of 6 pieces designed in France with love and care: a dress, two tops, a short, a panty and a treasure bag.
In our seaside memories, there were stripes. Stripes of the traditional French beach huts, of the beach towels and umbrellas, of the deck chairs.
This pattern became the cornerstone of this collection and we developed our own exclusive striped fabric, bringing back all the happy memories, flavors, scents of those precious holidays.
It's a beautiful fabric you'll find nowhere else, a mix of cotton and linen woven and dyed in France, with textured stripes of red and different shades of blue.
To complement it, we chose a beautiful blue cotton gauze also produced in France, ultra soft and comfortable that we used on our short Marius.
So comfortable that our little model Jade wanted to keep it at the end of the photo shooting!
The dress Pélagie is the perfect mix of comfort & style, with its vintage lace collar, pintucks and subtle cross-stitch detail on the front.
The tops Ulysse are made of high quality cotton produced in France. They are sleeveless, tied with a gros grain ribbon on the shoulders. A playful detail different than what you see everywhere else!
On the white top, we screen printed a seaside scene drawn exclusively for the collection and reminiscent of the holidays at the seaside.
We are very happy to work with a local Portland atelier to execute this print which utilizes top of the line Japanese water based inks to produce softer prints and crisper detail than standard screen printing inks.
On top of that, the main cleaning chemical is water, so you can feel good about the reduced impact your finished product has on our planet.
Delphine, the panty, is comfortable and stylish with its bourdon edge finish and red cross-stitch detail on the front. It's complementing nicely every piece of this collection.
