The festive table « à la française »

The festive table « à la française »

It feels so good to be able to gather again and celebrate the good moments of life! Of course the most important part is to be together but a lovely and poetic festive table is such a treat for everyone! We share here with you an effortless yet delicate festive table from the French countryside.

You can prepare your table in advance to feel relaxed and free before your guests arrive and the party begins!

I like to put a linen tablecloth on the table. Vintage wedding sheets can be perfect for this too. It is better to use real napkins instead of paper ones. Get your favorite vintage or ceramic plates, silver or regular cutlery, candles, and of course flowers.

For the flowers here we have chosen to make very small bouquets in little glass yogurt jars or glasses. We have mixed peonies from the flower shop and cow parsley from the fields. You can mix flowers and colors according to your mood, the color of your tablecloth or your food! Let the big bouquets for your guests if they bring you flowers.

It is always more confortable to have table napkins made out of cloth. Here we have found vintage French napkins at a flea market. They are really huge and to fold them nicely and simply we have used a basic florist twine. This rustic and natural twine is perfect with the precious old linen napkins.

A pretty table is a warm welcome, a lovely surprise for everyone and even the food tastes better!
