Behind Papillon*Papillonnage, there is Sibylle, French author and illustrator.
The adventure began with the opening of her blog several years ago and the desire to write as simply as possible on the multitude of sensations going through her, on the little things that do what we are.
Instead of using pictures to illustrate her texts, Sibylle started to sketch clean and naive drawings in ink. This very personal universe quickly inspired her readers who encouraged her to offer this work in cards, calendars or notebooks. The Papillon*Papillonnage sensitive stationery brand was born.
Sibylle is inspired by nature, flowers and plants and also by objects. She says that she likes drawing chairs and wobbly things. Pictures inspire her as well and recently she began mixing drawings and photographs.
She is also inspired by Paris, where she lives with her family and the cat, Maïa.
She writes and draws everything by hand and barely retouches her creations using a computer as her wish is that it remains a craftwork in which she mingles her doubts, her flaws, her lightness and her fantasy.
When I discovered Sibylle’s work, everything inspired me, the flowers, the sweet words and the poesy, the texts and images to dream. It became very clear to me that I wanted her to imagine the “Belle Vie Paris” logo, a rose and her own writing to start telling this story, with delicacy, softness and a very French style.
We hope that you will also be inspired to share those unique words and images with your loved ones.
